Need a bit of help. Was given my Grand Fathers early 70's Seiko watch and need to get a new Seiko bracelet for it.
Anyone know of any old school watch places I can try?
Heres what it looks like except mine is blingin Gold:kiss

Costa,
looks like a Seiko 5, a nice robust japanese automatic. It may be easier to buy a whole watch and take the bracelet off. Check Ebay, a new Seiko 5 can go for as little as $75 to $100. Or just go to a reputable jeweller or watchmaker that is a certified Seiko stockist and see if they can order you one. There are a number of non genuine bracelets, which can be just as good for significantly less. I have a serious watch addiction, swiss mechanicals in particular. one of my favourites cost me $16.50 off Ebay, and it is a 1960s Technos manual wind with a beautilfullt patina on the dial.

I got an Omega Seamaster for my 21st back in 1982.
For a "Seamaster" that thing leaked more water than my beetle. Would fog in rain.
Never wore it for 20 years but could never throw it out.
Anyway - spent a small fortune fixing it the other day.
Dont wear it swimming or anything - just happy to wear it.
Just take it to Angus and Coote or a good Seiko dealer and get it fixed

cheers guys show us ur pics of ur watches as well
I got a Tissot from my dad. I can't remember which model, but it was the Tisott equivalent of the Omega Seamaster. I had it and another good quality, very slim, automatic wind, dress watch reconditioned at great expense. One day I forgot to take the Tissot off when I used a big cold chissel with a big hammer. I killed the watch. Then I got burgled and the wretch stole them both along with my grandfather's old pocket watch and chain and everything of sentimental value in the house, except for my silver serviette ring which I had treated in a cavalier fashion and had dumped into the kitchen equipment drawer.
I now have a cheap, battery watch, with an analogue sweep second hand dial, called a Calypso. I needed a replacement watch in Uluru when I dropped my watch onto a bathroom floor. It cost me $35 as an "it'll do for the moment", watch. It is battered and scratched, it's on its third replacement battery and about the fourth band and it refuses to die. I'm keeping it to see how long it lasts. I've used cheap watches for years as I seem to have a jinx that kills good expensive ones.
What I really want is an Omega Seamaster,(not the 2000 model). I've wanted one since I was a schoolboy in the 1950s and one of my teachers had one.
well i doubt that this old girl is at all collectable, but it is old, at least 1941, swiss made, by Delfin and still works a treat.

Why not restore the band that's on it? It doesn't look that bad.
This is the main part of my collection. I have others, but these are the better ones at the moment. Included are the rechargeable Casio GPS navigation watch, Casio compass/altimeter/barometer/temp titanium edition ProTrek, Fossil Palm powered wrist computer (8MB Ram, 66Mhz Dragonball processor, 160x160 greyscale screen) and some other classics. I collect mainly vintage digitals and highly featured watches (like the 6 language translator in the middle of the pic).
This is mine, and IWC Aquatimer. I had a 1999 Seamaster which I sold to help pay for this. I've also got a Tudor submariner. Bad habit...
