No offence taken Vwcool and no i'm not a machinist but i am an engineer and have drawn up exactly what i need in autocad...i was only looking for information about what is available. Good luck with your kits but i think the word is out...you don't need to spend $1000 for rear disc brakes...especially with the VW d.i.y. mentality👍VWCOOL wrote:That's a good price but I don't want to see rocknrob misled. I've 'read between the lines' but if someone is on here asking fundmentally simple questions about disc dimensions methinks he ain't no machinist (no offence rocknrob!)
My (new) EA pads cost $90, quality DBA rotors around $200 pair. New wheel studs/nuts are around $100... restudding and hub modification machining: $250. All to fit $50 EA/EB callipers to a Beetle!
The Kombi rear disc conversion may be easier than Beetle (no 4>5 machining; other dimensions may be a closer match) but these are the processes and costs that must be considered
