@reub, love your project

Your main problem is indeed guiding the air through the radiator and getting the hot air behind it away from it. After getting rid of air pockets mine would get to hot (around 100 celsius) at low speeds. I cut up some rubber floor mats to create guidance for the air and problem solved.

How are you measuring engine temp?
I had a turbo l/cruiser with an over heating problem.
Flushed the radiator, new thermostat, changed the friggin waterpump.....cost hundreds of $.
Changed the $5.00 temp sender last & guess what?
If you can put your hands on an infrared guage, check head temp, waterpump & radiator temp, even go to intercooler & exhaust. These guages are great tuning tools. great for measuring tread face temps as well.
