"Tell him 'We've already got one'"
yeah, that is cool fun..
very, very funny.
Gee I wonder who he's ripping off? [pete coughs behind hand] (steve vai)😀
Just goes to show how generic shredding has become. I can't tell you how many hours I spent trying to play interesting bass lines while meatheads like that one noodled on and on and on....but I'm not bitter. 🥲 Well, ok, just a bit.
I did like the way he put the tabs in so you could learn to do it yourself. 👍
Anyway, here's a guitarist joke.
Q: what do you throw a drowning guitarist?
A: His amp.
Q: what do you do if he's still drowning?
A: plug the amp in.
:P

That sounds like the sort of joke a drummer would come up with....lol
White Knuckle Racing Team [/i]
"Drive it like dirt"
Ok here's another one.
Q: How do you make a guitarist quiet?
A: put some sheet music in front of him
Q: how do you keep him quiet?
A: write some notes on it.
BTW, I've seen it work in real life. 😂
petewood, ur 1st joke is classic, Haha!
😀 😂
have to say, that shredding stuff is hell fun. I got the sheet music to Joe Satriani's Satch boogie, somewhere. Try playing that fellas if u want a challenge. I was going alright at it a while ago, haven't really touched on it recently, but i ain't got the 'whammy' bar on my bridge 🙁 for the all screamin'.
But still fun!
Who does that indian dude remind u of?
Hey Evan (jingjok1), he reminds me of u. for some reason :S Can't put my finger on it.

This guy goes into a shop and asks for a Fender Stratocaster, a tube screamer pedal, a Marshall 30yr anniversary 100w head and a 4X12 Quad box, a set of strings, a cry baby wah and a few leads. The guy behind the counter says "You're a drummer aren't you?"
The guy replies, "Yeah, how did you know?"
The shop guys replies, "This is a fish and chip shop..."
"Tell him 'We've already got one'"
Q: did you hear about the bassplayer that lost his car key?
A: it took them 3 hours to get the drummer out of the car.
Q: what did the drummer get on his IQ test?
A: Drool.
Drummers only join a band because they like to hang out with musicians!
Im not a complete idiot, quite a few parts are missing....
Q - If a drummer and a bass player catch a taxi, which one is the musician?
A- The taxi driver.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
hey, drummers and bass players are the only musicians who do it with rhythm!
You guys really need to get into some real playing not self indulging w--kers like Joe Sat. Do a search for buckethead and download some. He has his own website (really weird but cool) and also stars in some other bands such as Bucket of berlie brains, Praxis

I have a Les Claypool DVD that he plays slap lead and really fast. Adrian Belew has done some albums recently and I went and saw him live and was blown away. If he comes to town and your into music GO!. (He was the guitarist from King Crimson)

C'mon kids gather round,
there's a new sensation hitting town,
It's moving straight, low to the ground,
it'll pick you up when your feeling down.
yes you are right, satch and vai are quite formulaic.
I prefer more tasteful and musical players. Like say Eddie Van Halen, flashy but still musical. He writes songs, not just long solos. He has many strings to his bow.
Or Pat Metheny, check out "Bright sized life".
Or David Gilmour from Pink Floyd.
Or Mark Knopler of Dire straits. There is a man who knows how make a guitar sing, shame he can't sing himself...ha ha, you know what I mean.
I have that Captain Claypool album. I wouldn't describe as just a bit weird, it's very very out there, but as you say....cool too. 👍
Forgot to mention - get into The Mars Volta. Great guitar work.
Also if interested here's a link to a track from my brothers band Adrenachrome recorded live a few weeks ago. Enjoy

Please leave feedback, they would love to know what you think. Also they are playing in Adelaide this weekend.

They certainly take some of their cues from Primus.
here the site for others interested...

I think I enjoyed Billboard espionage more than the live track.
The sound is good. Different. Influenced by lots of stuff. Fresh. I think they could work on the tone of the vocals and bass a bit. The bass is very raw and could sound a bit smoother. The vocals need to be a more out the front of the mix.
Just my thoughts.
Thanks
Pete, I am not keen on vocals and all the recorded track were done in the back room of a mates house, not the best enviroment but they have been iin a proper studio and that is getting mixed at the moment. As for the bass, thats my brother and was recorded on a $150 cash converters bass as he had ordered a new one but it hadn't turned up yet. They were just playing and seeing what they could come up with. His new bass is a Modulus Flea Special and has a Edenwood Quad now to back it up. The bass is the same as flea's from RHCP and the combo is almost the same as Incubus'. With the pre amp it is really ballsy. Thanks for the feedback

Hi Pete, I reckon Pat gets a bit overshadowed by Jaco on that record, but He's still as incredible as ever. I have all of Pat's albums, even "Zero Tolerance for Silence". Check out "the way up" also. Other great guitarists to check out are John McLaughlin, Wayne Krantz, Bill Connors, Eric Johnson, John Scofield, Kazumi Watanabe, Birelli Lagrene, Mike Stern, Bill Frisell. There's hundreds.... we'll never get that light bulb changed...

Well, in real tastes via and satriani are great challenges, but real music doesnt' mean u have to have an epileptic fit on a fret board.
Sometimes the most simplist songs are the best.
God praise jack johson, interpol, placebo, presidents of the united states, God dam, millions to mention... but each has their crap and good stuff... incubus, matchbox 20....
And what about the chicken dance? Everyone knows that one ! 😂
Na na na na na na na, na na na na na na na ... lol

Of course I forgot to mention Steve Lukather who I saw with Toto at the Metro on Sunday night...
