Give a s--t. I play soccer and have all my life. I support teams and enjoy watch games but until the Australian Soccer Federation starts calling our squad "Australia" instead of a nickname 'Soccerroos" I cant be f--ked. Why cant we be proud of who we are and just call ourselves Australia. This is with all codes of sport here. Imaging lining up against Brazil in the second round and the team asks the coach who there playing... the socceroos... the soccerwhos?

Mitch Mitch Mitch

You are obviously one of these neandthals that like wathing a 50-0 drubbing of the Rabbits.

2 teams battle for an hour and a half and it is still a draw. It is called skill 😠

As for the name...... well - i look past that.

Bring on the world cup!!

Its definitely the world game, no other sport has as big a following. You'll never get that many people to watch a muck-around game in any other sport.

BUT I dont know where skill comes into the game. To me its a game of stalemate until someone else stuffs up bad enough to let the other guys fluke a goal. I used to play when I was a kid between 9 and 15. We were paid nothing and yet the goalkeepers had to do work. These people who are paid multiple millions of dollars FREQUENTLY miss the goals by over 10 metres. If I was paying millioins of dollars, I would want them to go close more often than not. Sadly that isnt the case.

And thats before we start the stupid writhing around on the ground in agony when they get a trip or at most a kick in the shins. Jezus Krist, monica seles had a steak knife embedded in her in her back and was only wincing. I've seen netballers destroy knees and not put on half the performance these show ponies put on.

Oh some bunch of poofs were on tv kicking each others balls😂😂 And as for "WORLD GAME" i reckon unisex nude jelly wrestling would have a larger following if it recieved as much publicity or actually existed...I'd watch it😘beer:beer😍

the only full game of "the world game" i have watched was our qualifier when aloisie?? kickied the winner on the penalty shoot.

untill the rules were explained to me, i thought the aim of the game was to put on the most impressive display of pain when someone from the opposing team got close.
now i know that its not that but something else..... i will watch so as to work this sucker out.

That goal bought back memories of Cantona's winner against Liverpool in the FA Cup - high bouncing ball behind him, step back and volley. All class, and hard to master.

Those that don't understand, may always see it as a slow spectacle, that, wait for it....even on some occasions ends up 0-0. 👍 Those who are doctrinated, also see it for the banter, the singing, and long lost memories of bringing terrace singing to Australia.

The future is now here. Embrace it....just like your kids do every Saturday morning.

I was at work on Swan St... sitting at the fireplace eating pizza when the goal was kicked and i could hear the roar from the MCG. Even had some people saying they'd heard it all the way up on Church St.

Could'nt be bothered watching the game but that roar was pretty exciting 😀

Greece on the other hand showed up for a holiday down under 🙁

Everyone was giving it to me at work asking how it felt to lose but i say i won cos both teams that ive supported all my life where there and Australia won

so I win either way --------------> Destiny 2006

Yeah
I was wondering what you would think Costa, either way you were going to win and lose 🙁 🙂
As much as I like Rugby and have forgotten the rules of soccer (yes, I will always call it and thats why they are called the Socceroos until a new name is announced - We name our sports teams here as there are that many teams representing 'Australia' particularly in football codes) I thought it was a not too bad game from Australia..... wasn't sure what Greece was thinking, either holiday or what the hell are we doing playing this lot. I think a lot of people would wonder why play Aust as they aren't exactly ranked high in the world rankings. But then again, we have beaten England lately as well (both English sides that played in that game)

As for aerial ping pong better than that game the other night... nope! never!!

In South East European Countries like Greece and Italy flares at a football game is a common thing. They do it as a sign of respect the flares represent their burning passion for the club/country thus the flares at the Aus vs Greece.

$4k fine doesnt scare anybody as long as they are cheering the teams they love:beer

Not sure what code you're talking about, I am guessing Rugby League? saw a lot of group hugging and groping at the MCG during that game of soccer the other night so they all have their 'metrosexual tendancies' 🙂
