After working on a uni group assignment till 3 am, i feel i'm gonna need it. This is my 1st full cup i have eva had.
Been doing a crapload of work for the group, so much for equality, but ah well. As long as it gets done.
Despite having a vw, it doesn't make life any easier, lol.

Its only a basic design, this 3d i been doing is to scale, not the neatest, and is far from a finished design (leave that to the 4th yrs)
Can't wait till the uni holidays to work on the baja though.

bajachris. As a coffee drinker for many years please allow me to edumificate youse about coffee.
There are three kinds (generally speaking) of coffee.
Instant. YUCKKY MUCK. Stay away from it.
Robusta which is real roasted ground coffee. It has a strong slightly bitter taste and is the cheapest. Drink it if it is all you can get. Most coffe houses sell robusta.
Arabica which is real cofee and it is the best as it is strong and sweet with a mellow taste and after taste. The best coffe houses sell it and it is the only one that will buy for home consumption.
So if you care about the coffee that you drink, drink Caffea arabica only. If you drink arabica you will only need about 2 or 3 cups a day as it has a much longer lasting effect.
As a matter of interest. in the 1970 when I was a hippie travelling across Africa I was thrilled to see that when we got to Nigeria that there were huge coffee plantations everywhere. I was stunned to find out that it was/is impossible to get real, freshly roasted coffee there. All of the coffee was exported and the only coffee that was available was instant. See the movie Oh Lucky Man staring Roddie McDowal to see why.
Also during World War 2 the Brazillians could not sell their coffee on the world market so they burned it in their power stations and factories to get steam. When the wind was in the right direction it could be smelled hundreds of milles away, out on the Atlantic Ocean.
We found the same problem in South America when we travelled Bolivia and Peru. Coffee plantations everywhere, but only "American" coffee available to drink which is weak, bitter, burnt, instant crap.
The Coca plantations were readily available to chew coca leaves though. The locals chewed them in preference over anything such as coffee or cola. Coca really keeps you going, and miners are able to work 16 + hour days underground while chewing the stuff.
I hate coffee that tastes like an ash tray. My Dad made me a coffee yesterday and it was so disgusting. I didn't think coffee could be that bad, but he wins the gold medal for bad coffee. :P
Arabica beans are the way to go. 🙂
Have you done anything to piss your Dad off lately? Maybe he actually washed out a used ashtray into your cup whilst making your "special" coffee. Check that his coffee tastes as bad next time...
Personally, I would never eat or drink anything my Dad prepared. Not that he's likely to be involved in food preparation at all...
One of my Aunties exclusively drinks Industrial.... er I mean International Roast.
Which in my opinion is the worst of the worst of the instants....
We have a expresso machine here (when its not broken) and usually Piazza d'Oro beans which are quite acceptable 🙂 Certainly makes for better productivity from the engineers 🙂
Pablo is a favourite for caterers to dish out on unsuspecting coffe drinkers.
International make a caterers blend. I thought it already was!!
Hahaha, no I haven't annoyed my Dad lately... I think I'll just have to buy his coffee beans in future though! :P
Errgghhh.... International Roast.... should be called Industrial Mud. 😉
atomica brunswick st best coffees in melburn...

Don't be so quick to knock the International Roast instant coffee... It was the first "instant" coffee and was provided to many workplaces for free when it was first marketed to promote the product.Up until several years ago it was still used by places such as Woolworths and Coles in their smoko rooms as it was practically given to them to use. When i was a manager it was the only coffee allowed unless you bought your own.Shit I'm getting old... The instant coffee was promoted better than instant tea and therefore has become accepted where as the tea has not. I prefer the perculated coffee over the instant though.........and instant tea sucks..:puke

Civet Coffee (Kopi Luwak) - considered to be the best in the world. Sells for about $1000 US a kilo. The fruit of the coffee plant is eaten by the Civet Cat and then the beans are collected from its dung - I kid you not.
A POSSE AD ESSE.
I live in my own little world, but it's okay, they know me here.
The vittoria black, arabica high altitude is beautiful! You need a decent home machine though.

My two favourite coffee places in Melbourne are Elizabeth Street Espresso ( guess where that is :P ) , and Luscious Affairs on Tooronga Rd in Hawthorn... cos it's close to college and it's damn good coffee.
I just discovered another place on Burke Rd in Camberwell called Coffee Max... they roast their own beans and you can watch their machine mxing them as they come out of the oven 😀

Loves a lolcat
I have an excellent supplier of arabica coffee in Kings Coffee in Harrison Street, Balcatta in Perth. They roast it on the premises. I would love to live nearby, the smells must be wonderful. They have about 8 different arabica beans and they are all different in shape, size and flavour. I have no favourites. They are all good. I randomly select what I want when I'm in the shop. They charge $20 or $22 for a kilogram. I buy 250 grams every week, so it costs me $5 to have really good coffee for a week. I use a plunger and let it brew for only as long as it takes for the grounds to settle, which is about 3 minutes. You can't do better than that.
I dislike all instant coffees so much that when I am out I always dring tea as almost no-one seems to have good arabica coffee available.
Can I live without coffee? Yes. I just don't want to. Especially that good stuff.
ive taken to drinking a few cups of coffee during the week now that uni is back on and my contact hours have suddenly doubled (can anyone say 9am organic chemistry pracs?)
i'll only ever drink coffee from 2 places... urban grind in paddington (because morgan is the best barista ever, makes the best coffee in brisbane and we get to talk nerdy mac stuff as well) or merlo @ QUT.
double shot flat white with soy. no sugar... yum yum!!
i couldnt possibly imagine life without tea though... i drink ridiculous amounts of tea
in the beginning, the universe was created.
this made alot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.

I used to drink lots of coffee daily... then I stopped completely for over a year... then 2 weeks ago I started again because I needed a quick shot of energy. When I used to drink lots, it didn't have any caffeine-related effects on me. I could even have a coffee before going to sleep! Now a nice got coffee gives me a buzz again, but I won't drink more than 2 a day.
Cups of tea though? Well that's a different story! :P
We stil get to smell the coffee roasting here, especially when there's a fog. The Nestle coffee factory is pretty close by (about 2km), and we used to live in the next street from it. Smells good when they're doing the "Blend 43" roast, but it still tastes like dishwater.
Mick, I have everyone at work addicted to dark chocolate coated coffee beans! Started bringing them in for night shifts, but now virtually every day.
