I was at the Variety Club Bash display at Nowra Showground yesterday representing the SES at our promotional stand, and needless to say, had the kombi parked nearby.

I went over to put my little green SES pompom men across the dash, and as I was doing so, an elderly couple walked by, and the nice old lady said to me... "you know, we think you have the best car that we've seen in the show so far!", and we proceeeded to talk Kombi's for the next few minutes or so... told me they owned a Kombi for 14 years until they ended up in the middle of a massive pile up in it, and that no car they had owned since was close to as good as their bus had been.

I must say... that little compliment tho really made my day! 🙂 👍

goes to show once a dubber, always a dubber! :bounce

On that note... I got the ok from Mr Becker to drop Buttercup in the arena with the Shoalhaven VW Club's vehicles so as not to be a stranger. 👍 :P

I did notice Buttercup in the line up late in the day. You are most welcome to park it with us anytime. You dont need to ask. Just rock on in! Its getting to be a real big show that one.

Just as a matter of interest the Shoalhaven Club presented over $1300 to the cancer bus, all of which was raised at the Blast from the Past in Berry earlier in the month. A big thanks to all the people who supported us on that day, and its nice to use the money for something good.

Hehe.. I didnt realise the veedub club was there till after we'd set up the SES stand and got Rescue 1 going again... lol... the bastard conked out at the gates and almost had to get ytowed in by the RFS... then carked it again before it got to the stand! :jesus

But yeh... was some nice dubs there indeed... esp that white beetle that I put BC next to. 🙂

I'll probably be tootling out to the pub on Tuesdy for the meeting methinks... get to meet a few more of the local dubbers! :bounce
