sounds like the front tires are rubbing but the car is stock height and the tires are not rubbing anywhere. wat could this be, its only under full lock like when pulling out of a car space. is it the same as the tick tick tick noise that happens in modern cars with worn CV joints?
thanks
sam

Mine sometimes does this too, a kind-of 'grinding' noise.... but my wheels probably DO rub a bit... :P

Its best if its the tyres rubbing....

otherwise...

It can be worn or loose wheel bearings which allow the brake drums or disc to bind or rub....

when on full lock and there is a lot of pressure on the wheel bearings...

Yes,
that would eliminate the front end then...

but if You have drum brakes...

with a loose front wheel bearing, when You do a tight turn, the brake drum rubs on the backing plate...
the bearing doesn't have to be really loose...
just enough...

Could it be a loose brake shoe?

might want to make sure the brake line isn't rubbing either - though that wouldn't make such a loud noise...

is it both full lock left & right?
is it when going both forward & backward
my car (175 x 15) just catches the chassis rail at the corner of the tread when on full lock to the left, & makes "end of the world" type noise
Please, I need drivers side window regulator (winder mechanism) for my '54

Yes,
A loose brake shoe could do it too.....

but I believe its in the wheel hub/brake drum..
thats why it makes such a noise....

My front tyres rub when backing out My driveway..

well, they actually grab onto the guard...

and make a hell of a noise.... they don't do it anywhere else.. but I have an adjustable front suspension...
which has to be wound up a bit....
