Turn the car upside down and shake it?
Or perhaps some wire bent into a little hook?
You can buy a long thin flexible tool with a strong magnet on the end with a bright L.E.D in the end....
But I'm guessing You will need that plate to be in position so You can screw the replacement door back on.....
I'm not 100% sure its accessible from behind....

definately a 2 person job. You need one to hold the door in position the other to get plate in position with a piece of wire etc, once first screw is in a few turns then comes some PATIENT jigglling and wrigglling about while still using the wire etc. When second screw is in it's plain sailing from there.
Don't set yourself a time frame and if it starts giving you the shits, take a break, do something else for a while (have a beer with your helper) and go back to it fresh. It really is one of those things that can go well straight off or take many, many attempts. Don't let it get the better of you.
Matt.
