Is there any vw you dont like or do you like them all,
lots of people say they prefer the air cooled over the water cooled,
i want to know the reasons and what you like the best.

the touareg.
i dislike it for the same reasons that i hate all 4WD's.
it might be schmick and fast and look really really good... but we are going on principle here. it still has no need to be driven in the city, by soccer-mums and people with an inferiority complex. all fine and good if you need it for work or if you are on your way to take it off road.
plus, its probably the most fuel inefficient volksie... so theres another reason.
you will notice i said "dislike"... i dont think there is a volksie i hate... and i only dislike that one on principle.

have to say I think very little of the earliest beetles tho too, as in pre-1938... ugly as hell!
DOn't think too much of watercooled T3 Kombi's with square headlights either.
There is however one pet VW hatewhich I have... the 70's LT-28 van!!!! :puke

Well my friends are gone & my hair is grey, I ache in the places where I used to play.
I have never been a fan of country buggies, don't know why just something about them.
The early prototype beetles with the full louvered rear freak me out, they scare me. My freinds and I used to call them the devil bugs when we saw them in literature

but they are sooooo rare....
so now I don't mind them.......
the type 3 karmann ghia is sorta ugly....
some of the LT Commercial Vans are really ugly....
I like all type 3s especially the 69 model...
I like the late Karmann Ghias....
and I always wanted a 4 door" Brasilia...."

as if thats ugly? its already got a bug eye nose cone just needs a bit of a nose job and some baja fenders.
cant say i like new beetles. and i agree about the stock early passats. although ive seen some really nicely done up ones.....but you can do up anything.

there have been some pretty tricked out kits for the vw chassis but i would have to say my personal most disliked one would be with the holden fj or chev like front nose?

Can't say I like many of the VW's from the 1970's. They lost all their character visually once they had to comply with ADR's. Watercooled and front wheel drive just doesn't cut it for me in a VW. One thing I truly dislike are the final previous owners of Hebmullers, split window beetles, ovals and anything up to 1959 that they knowingly sent to a scrap yard to be someday turned into a hyundai. Shame.....:bounce Please feel free to dump any rare volkswagen on my lawn before you consider giving it to a scrap yard....(I hate being 50years too late for a bargain!!!:P) - Adam

I've always regarded all water cooled VW's as imposters to the VW name, they even produced the first Golfs as Audi 50s and Polos as Audi 30s. I know they changed because Beetle sales were declining and the whole factory needed a future and it wasn't to be with the old models but they should have called them all Audis and left it at that. The original beetle was/is different from other cars because it's air cooled and the engine is at the back whereas every other car on the road is water cooled front engine (including that Golf dressed up and called a "New" Beetle!). I believe the K70 was a VW design, a bit of a marketing disaster but their first venture into water-cooled cars, please correct me if I'm wrong.
