was concerned how difficult this would be but bit the bullet and did it just a few mins ago, simple, and didnt break anything and only had myself to do it, way i did it was big flat screwdriver, and a smaller one, go 2 a corner flip up the rubber with the small screwdriver then put the larger one thru, and lift the inside bit up so you dont damage it, tthen lever it our on the large screwdriver, and support with your free hand, get one side out then remove screwdriver, use both hands to slowly pull and tilt outwards until it comes free, rear is trickier because you cant reach the inside so u just used the large screwdriver from the outside bottom corner levered it up and out then tilted up and pulled backwards, also becareful that the rubber comes out with the glass and dosent stick to the car. hope someone finds this useful, alot easier than using two people and pushing it out with your feet im my opinion.:thumb

I found that if you remove the two side windows first, the rear windscreen is more accessible.

You can push it out with your feet on your own. You dont have to kick it out like you are going for a goal. I have removed about a hundred like this on my own and only broken a few front screens (some had bullet holes anyway) and one back screen (about 13 years ago). It just takes a bit of patience, as you would have found.

Then when you are feeling brave move onto the curved 1303 screens.

They REALLY get ya blood flowing wnen you do it for the first time.
For some reasomn the curved glass feels more fragile

The old original Safety Glass is Toughened Glass....

this is why it shatters and doesn't crack....

It was made for people to be thrown thru in an accident..

in the 20s 30s 40s Most auto glass was Laminated...

and if You were thrown into a window until Your shoulders hit the glass...
You would then be stuck like that....
Very Dangerous....

Now cars have Laminated windscreens, as We are
supposed to be wearing seatbelts so We don't get
thrown thru them...
The other glass windows in New cars is Safety Glass...
ie. shatters when broken....

I had the unlucky misfortune to be thrown thru a
Toughened safety glass Windscreen back in the late 60s
I was picking glass out of My head for over a year...
Had a few stitches in My Forehead too...

I changed My Beetle windscreen for a Laminated one...
as I'd rather have a chipped windscreen
than one that goes bang... when hit by a stone....
and You are showered by shattered glass....
Not something I could forget.....

Toughed Windscreens are illegal if a Laminated one is available.... [in NSW]
