G'day Guys

In order to cope with the 2110 thats being transplanted into the Ghia I would like to improve the performance of my front brakes.

Current Brakes system consist of front and rear discs with dual master cylinder. Front Calipers are recon Type 1 and rears are the CB Performance Kit. (King and Link Pin Front End)

I currently have brakes and can lock the front wheels but requires substantial force to do so, experienced VW advice is that my calipers are just small and should consider upgradeing to Type 3 calipers but to do so other issues will need to be addressed.

Was keen to get som feed back on what disc/caliper set up people are running on K&L Front ends, What mods were required, and bolt on solutions. etc

Brad

Type 3 'twin pin' callipers are your first step, fitted with better pads. Bolt on. The twin pin callipers have a good range of pads available as they are common fit on the rear of Euro cars

How much 'work' do the rear discs do? ie is the bias okay?

Will need to check rears, but here is a piccy of my front caliper (actually dasdubbers but mine is similar), should this realistically be enough and I should be looking for some other problem????

similar or the same? That's a type 3 one. I used to drive like a maniac on-road and do circuit sprints etc on those with good pads
