Ok, so I've got some new window winders.... and I can't get the old ones off!
Yes, before you start with the jokes, I've taken the screw out.... do I need to take the door panel off first? Because I've tried that but the door panel won't come off without taking the winder off first....
Is there a trick to it that I am missing??
Thanks
dodge

I don't know a lot about dubs, but there is a spring clip behind the winder on most Jap cars that is kinda like a circlip. You need to use a tool (which I have - I'll post a pic tomorrow if needs be) or a very fine screwdriver to get in behind the winder handle to push it off.
Please correct me if dubs don't use this clip.
A POSSE AD ESSE.
I live in my own little world, but it's okay, they know me here.
sinecure,
My beetle didnt have a circlip behind the winders......not any of them, but the kombis maybe different.
Dodge,
If u have the 'screw' type...the ones with the screw in the middle of the widners..then it should just pull off once the screw is off. But the first time I tried I couldnt get it..my eldest son did.
The 'pin' type dont have a screw as well...well, my 61 didnt...its only been one or the other. But i may be incorrect. And Im sure people will corect me if im wrong
cheers
dubless. 🥲
🥷 And who the helled parked the Mitsubishi "Prancer" under my house??? 🥷
Yeah, I was pretty sure that it was just a "pull off" job but I can't seem to get it off. Maybe I just need to employ someone with strong hands... hahaha....
