I've just bought new rubbers for my 68 popouts. An y advice on installing them on the outer channel of the windows would be greatly appreciated. Do I need to remove the frame from the glass or does the channel need some sort of lubrication to install. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

If you are talking the one that goes on the outside of the frame - yes just some lube. Easy job

If you are talking the one UNDER the frame and actually on the glass - dont go there!!

Yeah I had to do that one and it was difficult, had to open up the frame a bit which was scary, then put the seal on the glass and use a fair bit of silicon spray on the outside of the seal so it stayed put while the frame slid back over it. Tricky but I got it after a few goes.
If your original isn't really stuffed then leave it.
Outside seal was slow but not too hard, slide into the channel.

Yeah, made the mistake of loosiing the original outside ones after I removed them. What sort of lube are we talking about. No seriously, water based or what? The rubbers are whole, not cut so should I cut or stretch them in?

No they just stretch on

Seriously - they old KY is best. Mainly cause you can easily wash it off as it is water based (the fact it has additional uses has NOTHING to do with it 😀 )

Other wise - soap and water

Hmmmmmmmm
Imagine trying to explain that to the boss.
I'm in enough trouble for spending too much time with the car now I've got to share intimacies with the 68.
Will give it a go on the weekend. Both things that is!!!!!
