alternator belt adjustment/ 2ltr kombi

How do you adjust the tension on the alternator belt on a 2 litre kombi motor. I know you remove plastic cover and then loosen the allen key head bolt BUT how do you move the alternator in the desired direction.
There appears to be no means of levering the alternator.
Any help appreciated.

it should sort of slide up and down on the back rail. just loosen the allen key then put some force on the alternator pulley or either pull it up or down, its pretty easy tho.

as said above, grasp the pulley and pull up then slam it down (using hands) and it should sit pretty tight... mayb you didnt losen it enough. DONT UNDO IT ALL THE WAY its a bitch of a nut to get back on!
