Weaseling out of things is what separates us from the animals....................Except the Weasel.
can,t see the tank indian
Like to know more about if he realy found it, looks a lot like the one in the film "the fastest Indian"
I dream of a day when a chicken can cross a road without being asked for it's motive!
looks like that bike in that indian movie by the looks of the tank thats molded at the back of the seat.
going by the signature mechanics it is undoubtably ....an old bike:thumb
Vincent? Harley? Indian?
Ball Crusher for sure though
It is a flats beach racer.
The fastest indian started like this and evolved into the longer fastie beast that is seen in the movie. That bum stop tank is different as it doesn't have the wedgie seamed in.
The engine may be and of the matchless, JAP, vincent type twins which everyone had a go at building in the between wars era.
Classic peice of kit to go blasting flat oot anold the hard wet sand on the beach at low tide..........
'ard men in those days.
My late grandfather holds a number of records for this type of racing in SA.

Hey kkk. My late grandfather used to race motorbikes in SA. He used to be the SA agent for Calthorpe and Kent motorbikes.
He invented what he called the Kent Valve, which is an external spring loaded exhaust port which opens at the bottom of the stroke to let out most of the exhaust gasses before the exhaust scavenge stroke. That made it possible for him to really hot up his engine without burning out the exhaust valve. As a result he had one of the most powerful and reliable engines on the track. Then along came WW1, and technology and better metalurgy made it redundant.
In SA, Kent Valves are now collector's items as he only made a few of them.

That was all in an era when you had to have real balls. Death on that kind of machine was poetic, heroic and respected.
Now we have to have cotton wool to do anything 🙂
too true.
except industrial law protection, in that we're on our own. BYO sixgun!

Looks similar to a Harley Davidson 8 Valve used for Veledrome racing up until the 1920's. Worth big bucks nowdays. Get a poofy Yammaha R1 Rider to experience what *real* deathwish riding is all about. (they didn't have brakes on those racing bikes back then...didn't need them, it was all about going fast).

If you can't fix it with a hammer,
you have an electrical problem....
It's actually one of the replicas built for the movie "The Worlds Fastest Indian". Built by a mate of my Brother in NZ. The other replicas used for the speed shots were a Ducati with a streamliner body on it.
