I'm a maudlin drunk. I become sad and I cry, so I don't get drunk any more. I have a drink but I don't get drunk.

One time when I was a student and I was living in the shearers quarters of a farm we had a tequila, salt and lemon bash. I disappeared and I was found down at the main house, hugging the neck of the sheepdog, bawling my eyes out and raving incoherently. I was carried back to bed and had a monumental hangover for two days. That was the last time I have been completely out of it on alcohol.
