C2S is 10 weeks away. Anyone interested?
I did it last year, was good fun (until I sat down)
Looking to beat last years time of near enough spot on 2 hours. But this year I know where to stand for a quick getaway at the start, I'll (hopefully) have some decent training miles under me, and also I've got proper shoes now, not just casual thingies.

More training than I have ever done in my life. Every day except friday.
I'm using a training guide I found on the web... but cant seem to locate it now.
Im doing the Sutherland 2 surf on July 23 as practice run.

Unfortunately Valla is the weekend before City 2 Surf. I'm sure that will undo a lot of the training.

I will be there with the team from the Army Parachute Training School.'

We will have to catch up for a drink afterwards in the recovery tent.

we can do that. You may have to help me though. I'll be the guy lying on the ground with an oxygen bottle... a crowd of nervous looking paramedics will be a good way to locate me.

How are you going Bizarre?

I dont need valla to destroy my training regime.

I ran the sutherland to surf yesterday in 74 minutes. In a moment (night) full of intellectual madness I went out on Friday night to the Shannon Taylor fight. A few beers before at the leagues club, a few during the fights (almost got myself into one with another patron), back to the leagues club for a few more, off to the pub where my sis was waiting to take us home, liked the beer there so had a few until closing, walked across to the nightclub across the road and had 1 more before I realised I had reached my limit a few hours before. Spent all day Saturday feeling very crook, had a few visits from vomitman in between trying to drink as much water and gatorade as I could to try and get rehydrated. Still felt bad on raceday but ran anyway. Shitloads easier than City 2 Surf, felt like downhill 90% of the way.

So anyway, I'm going to try and limit myself to 3 drinks per night, at least till after C2S.

You wont die. I have a failproof system. I just lock on to a nice girl wearing lycra pants and chase her all the way. Kinda like slipstreaming.

Eeerm when I say lock on, I mean with the eyes only, anything else might get you arrested :P

Well? are we there yet? Are you in or out?

Just found this pic. First thing that caught my eye as the loose jubblies. Reckon that would hurt after 14kms, and probably do some damage to the perkiness side of things. But then... somehting about the guy on the right looks a little loose as well.

Hmm yeah, I dont think the saturday night has done me any favours. I ran 8kms as a training run mid week. It was a little tough but pulled up OK though. If I dont post tomorrow, you'll know things didnt go too well LOL.

Luckily for me, my previous time is only 118 minutes. Should be able to beat that without too much pain. Standing in the right spot at the start will knock off 5 minutes.

well i am home and have a couple of nice blisters for my trouble.
I managed a 116.24min.
That equates to 1hr 30min for my individual time.
I Had a great time and can't wait to do it next year.
Just one suggestion to the organisors - piss the prams off and keep the walkers to one side of the road.
It was like playing frogger with 62,000 people.

Well done Lee!!

As i said - i was sick and backed out.

My wife was sick as well and still did an 85.
Yep - makes me look REAL good! :cry

What pissed her was people in the front group and walking.
You would think if you were going to walk - get in one of the back groups, not the front group!

man there were some really smelly people out there today.
Honestly some people should wash.

And Barry i agree wife your wife, when i saw people in the lead group walking or standing at the front and walking off the line, i felt like pushing them in the middle of their back and get them moving.

Ahh I was right behind you, 119 minutes. Yes, I'm alive, but on life support.
I had a shit run, went too hard at it at the start to get in front of everyone, never did. Seemed to be more congested this year. I found the last 4 kms hard going. Its a bloody tough 'fun' run.

Echo sentiments about walkers. Why enter the top divisions to walk. Why push and bustle your way to the front to be first cab off the rank... and then walk... like many did in the back of pack group. Pissed me off.

Also pissed that I didnt break 90 minutes. That'll teach me to pretty much stop training for the last 3 weeks.

Pissed me off that it took so long for me to get home. Arseholes pushing ionto bus queue, bus staff not caring, some woman then blacked out on the bus, had to wait until ambulance came, missed fast train had to get all stops, then locked keys in car🙁

Now im gonna have to do it again next year.

Us three will definatley have to get together next year and run it.
Make sure we get into a better catagory so we can run more of it.

Hey, Im totally pissed off now. I just watched the race that I'd recorded. I think back of pack had about 18:15 delay in staring. My time was highish 119, cant remember exactly..meaning net 101:somthin. A 17min improvement I thought. BUT I checked last years results. I thought my 118:03 minutes from last year was the net time. Just checked the site and it was the gross time so I ran 101:57 last year. I think I ran frikken slower! how can that possibly be! Even if I slacked off at the end I trained my arse off every day for 10 weeks before that. I couldnt walk for 2 days after last year, today I got up and went to work, even walked to shops for lunch.

:cussing nambucca and :cussing walkers. Next year we definitely run together for added inspiration and we get in as soon as entries open and run at front of HSBC.

On a slightly higher note, it appears I came 62 out of 67 kembla joggers that ran. I've never not finished last before :duh Although... the 5 that came in after me may have been kids... dont normally race them. Still didnt beat the woman with cerebral palsy. I hate that woman, she's the energiser bunny.

that 50m just cost you badly for next year Chris 🙁
