I still need to anifog my interior glass and RainX the outside if I have any left... I can't be stuffed washing the car before I go...

this is so funny! I'll be laughing away to myself all day tomorrow, btw, I drive a seat cordoba glx 1994. Does this count as a V dub? It has v dub symbols all over the engine, so...does it?

Before you judge someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you judge them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Damn that I can give when some bonehead purist says, "VWs shouldn't have subaru engines".....oh sorry turns out I don't have one to give.🤘
Spare clutch cable. [I'll get you 1303steve, I wasn't even worrying about mine till you mentioned it.]
Spare dizzy, rotor, points...oh that's right, my engine doesn't have any of those. 👍
Smug expression for when I arrive having not broken down.
Embarrassed expression for when I breakdown afterall.

BTW, there is a way of lessening the noise of the your car. Pack all the hard stuff underneath and then put blankets, doonas and pillows on the top. It acts as sound deadening and helps a lot.
