its annoying having to play with the engine so much, that i flatten my battery via the starter motor. is there a cheap crank handle that u can mate or buy or if someone has an idea to start a semi auto without the starter motor?
Did they eva have crank handles? or are they all too 'kool'?

Turn the f*cking AM radio off, wire up your freaking alternator and coil and START THE MOTOR! Don't just bloody wind it over and over.
Crank handles went out in the thirties/forties.

the radio is off, alternator is wired, coil is wired... for some reason now, the fuel line ain't spitting out shit, yet its not blocked at the end, nor halfway up the hose and still got a quarter tank.
i still want a crank handle!!! flat battery in a semi auto DOES NOT = PUSH START!!!

Where ISN'T the fuel coming from? The line pre pump or post pump?

i have one of those battery packs for starting our semi-auto as most of the time the battery is flat(still rebuilding the body),get the fuel line and blow it back to the tank and get someone to listen for bubbles in the filler neck end,and forget about Bloody crank handles they went out with split window beetles

ther eis no inline filter installed on the fuel line, and it has always been sealed... maybe its a little bit of 'crud' at the other end. will blow into it.
Doesn't the fuel tank have a gauze or something before the fuel line in the bottom?

How would you know if it was a pump prob? If the (I assume, gravity fed) fuel wasn't coming out of the tank, surely it's a blocked line or pick-up.
Have you ..ahem ...sucked on the tank fuel line (remember Bill - don't inhale)? Could it not be a simple vapour lock?
Prime the pump manually (get a 'container' for fuel, stick the pump feed line in it and try to start). Then re-connect the (vaccuumed) main line after the bowl is full.

yup, i sucked on it... and pulled off the fuel line closer to where itcomes out of at the rear forks near the chassis, still nuffin. + the car is on a slope, with the engine down hill and the fuel tank above, should be pissing out at that angle! Fingers and hope to god its something simple, i don't need this. Not sure bout pump, should have been good, cause fuel was squirtin into the carbie a while before (when turning the thing via socket and wrench.)

You sure about fuel level?
When you suck is there resistance or just air coming?
Go get a jerry can and load it up a lil more.
If you want to get the thing running just fill the float bowls, shud b good for a few mins. If you have the fuel pump connected the vacume might dislodge whats in there. Might be a good idea to put a in line filter in before u try this tho..
wait... neva mind... The fuel guage was giving a wrong reading, things bone dry... lol, i feel like an idiot... i been sucking up fumes for like 20 mins straight working it out....
Am really impressed bout my fuel can, VERY clean, the surface is very clean and spectacular. :o

i swear there was fuel in there... what was even more interesting was that the cover sheet and even the tarp over the car was dislogged, (and over the spare engine on the turf) was completely removed), and family doesn't know what was the go there... fricken 10 kg rocks held the things down, so some kids musta raided it... i think everythings there... cept fuel though :o!
but ah well...

Will fit a 69 1500 (it actually came off a 68 1600 industrial motor). Mounts off the exhaust studs at the top, and off the bottom case bolt. The crank handle and nut are not knarled and its a factory german setup.
