I passed Sez(??) on the way home from Valla last night.
It was POURING!!
Saw som flashing lights up ahead - when i saw it was a dub i pulled over.
Poor bugga was sitting in his buggy with his lady.
Nothing i could do. G'box had crapped itself. He had called for help already. Just had to wait.
Not much room in thos buggies when it is teaming down.
Hope the lady was understanding Sez.
BTW - heard at work you got home finally.
I work with Isabell.
Anyone else have an eventful trip home??
Futue te ipsum!!!
jeez, poor guy. he messaged me late on friday night trying to get into his accommodation. I better message him.:o
just spoke to him. He got flat towed home from the other side of Newcastle with a highly suspect gearbox. Got home at 2am, drove girlfriend home and then went to work at 3:30am this morning 🙁
He was just about to have a shower and go to sleep when I rang him.

Would have been might peeved if you rang 1/2 hr later! :P

Thanks heaps for stopping in that rain even though you couldnt help. Out of all the dubs that did pass when it was still day light and dry u were the only one to stop when it was pissing down rain, i went to jump out of my car to run to yours but by the time i did that u were already by my window in the pissing down rain, sorry to get you drenched, but really do appreciate it. You work with Isabell? the same Isabell that towed me home?
It was a weekend full of tradgedies for me...
I will write down my story when I go on Lunch today at work and explain my crappy weekend

Yeah
the same Isabell
There is only about 15 in our office and 3 of us are HIVW positive :P

yeah, we had an eventful trip home too....and i had eventful trips there...but nothing that required towing, so i guess by comparison...it was all good
:kiss
dubless. 🥲
🥷 And who the helled parked the Mitsubishi "Prancer" under my house??? 🥷
sounds like there's more hard luck stories from this year's Valla than ever before :cry
I ALMOST had one - my fuel gauge is sus; I ran outta petrol at about 80km/h cresting the bridge coming into Kempsey and managed to roll to the fuel depot, doing a Dukes of Hazzard and cutting across a gap in the oncoming traffic. Rolled to a stop two car lengths away from the pump... :thumb
Pay your debts, CxxT
I had a bit of hard luck, but mine only required a new set of points and a flogging to clear the plugs (Although I had an extra set of plugs ready too).
But in the end she (Veronika) ran better than the trip down!
I even managed to squeeze in a quick donut before I got home.
Sorry to hear about your troubles Hel-toy, that's a sweet looking buggie.
Kinda looks like a George Barris style buggie to me, but anyway at least you got home... EVENTUALLY!

The story begins
Putting aside everything that i went through to prepare for the weekend with getting the car ready, I was having second thoughts on Friday when it started raining if i still wanted to go. I decided to go head, left at about 6pm as both me and my gf were working so driving up in the rain (first trip driving my car in the rain as i just got my roof done recently) to find that i was leaking from more then just the roof, soon enough i would be sponging out the 1-2cm puddle on the floor every pit stop.
Finally made it up there at about 1:00AM with wet cloths, drenched shoes and socks and one un-happy tired girl friend. I previously had arrange late arrival with Donna so that the key are left in the door, but where was this villa?? im lucky i remembered it was Num 49 but this was a big camp site. I drove around for a little trying to find it **sorry to all that i woke up that night, i was trying me best to keep my revs low**. I was making a bit of noise drving around and decided it would be easier to walk around and find it so grabbed a torch and jumped out in the rain looking for this villa, eventually i found it after i got the rest of my clothes drenched and drove up to it to find that it was locked with no keys left there!!!! i was now angry, tired, frustrated and soaked.
This is when i messaged pete with the hope that he would be there and still awake to help me out some how because i really didnt know what to do at this stage but the poor guy didnt even make it there. So we decided to drive to town in Nambucca to see if we could find accommodation for the night which we couldn’t because obviously every place was closed. Drove back to the camp site double checked that the front and back door were both locked then checked if any windows were left open. All locked and sealed tight, so I was left with no choice but to break in. I managed to break in through the window, stick my hand in and just reach the handle to the front door…we were in. Unpacked the car to find that my bag which I had left behind my seat was drenched and wet all my spare clothes, so I was stuck with what I was wearing, lucky enough it was only my bag and not my gf’s, so I’m grateful for that
Second day experience was pretty much same as the drive up, sponging out the floors and a wet ass from the seat etc..
Sunday drew a smile to my face when I woke up to see blue skys, so pulled off my whole roof and let the sun dry my car out =) For those of you who checked out my car on Sunday my bright red seat cushions were on top of my car so they could dry (some ppl would walk past touching them thinking I was putting on some sort of display or something with them.
Left Valla about 1 to head home, got to about 80mins b4 reaching Newcastle when my car stopped accelerating, I still had reverse gear until I reveres a few metres then I had no gears at all. Called a tow truck as I had no other choice, he was going to charge me $400 to get me to Newcastle where I was going to come back with a trailer to pick it up. Then about an hour later was when Bizarre stops by to ask if everything was ok, thanks again mate. Rain gets harder, start leaking more water, thunderstorm begins, gf shitting her self, regretting coming up. After the storm settled I had the towie on the phone who couldn’t find me when a couple cars started reversing down the highway, then someone jumps out and say hows it going FRU-17E (my x-car) because he couldn’t remember my name. Ended up being my mates cuz that I met a couple years ago who recognized my car who drove up from Sydney because his mate ran out of petrol 5 hours away from his house!!! He said he would flat tow me to where ever I wanted to so my toe rope came out and I called a very angry truck driver to cancel him. After towing it about 40km we came across the angry towie pulled over on the side of the road waiting for me, he tailgated us for at least 30km, when I called him to ask what his problem was when he said that he wanted some cash off me. He wanted $150 for his wasted time, I told him id give him $50 because my car never touched his truck. Pulled over at next servo to sort the matter, he called his boss and in no time he arrived and back his truck up to my car and started throwing the threats my way like how he was going to call the cops on me then after that there would be a couple trucks waiting at the end of the highway to beat my head in. Of coarse as soon as his truck backed up to mine I went straight there and stood between them as he would have had to knock me out before he touched my car even though I am about 1/3 his size. Massive Thanks to Jeff (dude that flat towed me) who stood right there beside me the whole time. Ended up agreeing on giving him $100
By this time there was no way I wanted to leave my car anywhere for them to find, so to cut this long story a little shorter (sorry all didn’t realize it was going to be this long) Jeff flat towed me back to Sydney! Dangerous and scary but I got her home safely.
I arrived home at 2:00AM, got ready for work, dropped my gf off at home, and got to work just on time at 3:30AM
HUGE THANK YOU to Jeff, His Mrs Isabel who was driving right behind me and there mate George.
End Result : One un-happy girl friend and a stuffed car

Sez that is hard luck man. Sometimes hindsight show that your instincts are always correct eh? Man you owe your girlfriend big time? She must be very, very understanding. Perhaps another weekend away for her? LOL. Hope fixing the buggy up isn't mega bucks.
ouch
hope everything works out sweet for you
maybe a box of chocolates and flowers for the girlfriend?
🙂
Man I am soooo sorry. Once I got onto the NRMA it mostly got better. Still gotta pay my mate back for towing me home, but that's nothing like your tow truck driver disaster. You should have called the cops on him.
Pete no need to be sorry, i feel bad enough for you too who couldnt even make it! With the towie we both threated to call the cops on each other, i wasnt going to call them because then i would get done for flat towing, its like a $400 fine or something stupid like that. (i cant understand y the fines r so hefty, its not exactly the safest thing to do)
Carina (haha i remembered your name this time), thanks for the sympathy lol,
vwboy - i got no idea what a george barris style buggy is, but cheers for comments
Bizarre- its a bloody small world! thats all i have to say, im hoping to have dinner with Isabel this weekend maybe
Im not sure what 2 do about the gf thing yet. im tossing up between paying to get my car fixed or taking her away for a weekend...tough decision lol
I stopped by Klaacks yesterday and they suggested that it could be my axle thingo. i fixed my axle seals before valla and they suggested that i didnt do up the nut hard enough and that i could have destroyed my rear hubs and bearings and all that crap. so the axle spins but no wheels turn...sounds like the most possible thing to me, better then a gearbox i guess

mate, just give ya girly a big kiss and cuddle and tell her you're really sorry. Then let her get over it in her own time. In my experience throwing money at the problem usually makes no difference. A quiet night in with a chick flick, some chocolate and a back massage is more likely to get you back in the good books rather than going away for the weekend again. After all, that's what got you in trouble to begin with. 😉

Nah !! You owe her and yourself a good weekend away. Leave the buggy and show her you care about the both of you as a couple by doing something nice for your relationship. You can rub the chocolate onto her back in the privacy of a motel room in a different city somewhere...you only live once !!!
😘kiss Then even if she dumps you later on you have some nice memories to fall back on.Memories are all you ever own.

were you being serious? Camping in the buggy? where will i fit everything? i just manage to fit everything in for Valla.
Mick your idea sounds good but i think i would rather stick by pete's idea as going away is what go me in sh** in the first place. although i dont like the idea of sitting in a chic flick...then again she did sit for 6 hours in a puddle of water.
Anyone else got any bright ideas? lol i think im willing to try anything at this stage.
o yea, i think i also owe her mum flowers, i forgot to mention that i sent her to newcastle from Penrith to pick us up when i thought that is where i was going to leave my car, i then called her after she arrived and told her to go back home because we were going to flat tow it all the way home as i didnt want the angry towie's to find my car left somewhere. i still feel so bad for that
Well what ever i do, or what ever happens it will have to be this weekend
btw nice pics

If you let HER pick where to go it will all work out fine......you owe her at least that....😁

Send the gf AND her mum away for the weekend, YOU pay.
Find a nice boutique hotel down The Rocks. Get the train in, pack some weekend bags, and see the City as a tourist, not a local. Go to the Art Gallery, walk through the Gardens, see a movie at the Dendy at Circular Quay....have dinner at the Oyster Bar.
what ever you do don't let her see this signature of yours...
If its got tits or tyres it going to give your problems
That's only gonna lead to...
:cussing:cussing:cussing:cussing:cussing:cussing:cussing:cussing:cussing:blah:blah:blah:blah:blah:blah:blah:blah:blah
and
😊😊😊😊🤪🤪🤪
on your part.
But seriously. She sounds like a good sort. Mate for her to put up with all of that and then her mum to put up with more...that's a lot of patience and love on her part. In my opinion that makes her a keeper. Might be time to buy a ring. Nothing shows women how much you love them more than your ability to commit. :thumb

You dont need gear!

So sorry to hear about your adventure... 🙁
But still glad you came & we all could see you car...awesome.
On a chicks put of view, @ your girlfriend....
Give her a nice night together, if you don't want to take her to tea somewhere nice...do it yourself at your place....blindfold her at the door, lead her to the kitchen table, candles, mood music , nice meal , tell her how sorry you are & how lucky you are having her ...aaahhh romantic....later massage...etc etc etc....you know the rest....& turn off your phones & tell everyone NOT to visit.
just a suggestion...she would love that

:o i wasnt expecting such a response
i dont know all your expreinces but everytime i ask a girl where they want to go or what they want to do the answer is always 'i dont know' or 'it doesnt bother me' so i think that it would be better if i decide.
dont like the idea of me sending her and her mother away, im trying to spend time with her not send her away without me
I know your all trying to help but just giving some feedback to all the comments so please dont take offence.
most of your idea sounds pretty sweet squizy, i may do the whole city dinner walk thing sat night. Judy's idea sounds sweet too, but a little to far extreme for me (im still living at home with parents) but can probably still use some of it.
hmmmmm....**sez in deep thought**, i think i may need to use a bit of a combination of all the above and throw in some of my own. We'll see what happens i guess
o yea, and i changed my signiture if you noticed :P , i shouldnt stopped and thought 4 a sec b4 i put it up lol
