Have the typical twin solex setup on my 1800 Kombi, not performing that well.

Stick with them if I get them overhauled or look at twin Weber setup??

What are the pro's and con's? Cost of course.

What weber size would be appropriate if I went this way.

Thanks.

I love 242HP sleepers. 🤪

How many sets of lights does it take a $229k Carrera S to learn? 😂 UPDATE: Cayman S, M3, B4 now added to the list.

i have a set of 36mm drla dellortos on an 1800 kombi motor they are great carbies, the equivalent in idf webers is 40mm. you will have to pay about $800 for carbies manifolds linkages and air cleaners, when tuned properly they are similar in fuel usage to twin solexes, but give much greater performance mainly low end and midrange on standard motors
if you go the weber/dellorto route make sure you read up lots about tuning them correct venturies and jets etc before you buy
to overhaul twin solexes will cost about $70 to rebush throttle shafts (carby services in sydney do a great job) and about $70 for a rebuild kit do it yourself also a bentley or gregorys
workshop manual is essential to set them up correctly or try http://www.ratwell.com/ he has a section on tuning twin solexes.

Thanks, very useful info. Would like to go the weber or dellorto route but of course need a full kit (linkages etc) ready to bolt on from someone 2nd hand.

if you are keen on the best possible performance from your engine get factory efi and bolt it on ,it will be cheaper and better than carbs can ever be,you will still need a manual tho
Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.
