I have a "squeak" coming from the clutch pedal.

Looks like i have spun the U shaped bush round where the pedal assembly enters the tunnel.

If i take the 2 bolts off the tunnell cover plate does this give me access to this bush.

I will have a go at most things but one thing i know i cank do is hook a clutch cable back over that damn hook - so the last thing i want to do is undo the bolts and have the clutch cable come free - i would rather pay some one.

You'd rather pay someone??
I agree that it's a c*** of a job, when I converted my Super to RHD I learnt quick smart.
Now what you'd be best doing is holding the assembly while you remove the bolts, mind you if you are only taking the right side cover plate off, there should be no problem.
That's assuming you have the two mounting bolts securely fastened to the pan through the small mounting tab near the back of the accelerator pedal and the circlip on the opposite end of the shaft (The LHS of the tunnel).
also make sure that the stoppers don't lift up enough that the pedals tilt towards the seat.
So all in all yes you'll have access to the bushing, and if you're careful there should be no further problems.

hey bizarre
looks like its possible to get the two bolts out and replace or adjust the bush without touching the cluster....but if not you will have
to undo the other bolts at the accelerator pedal end and the accelerator cable itself (passenger side) and also release the tension on the clutch cable before slidingthe cluster the cluster out a little but don,t let the clutch pedal fall back to far or the cable will come off the hook
you will know once you undo the two bolts on the tunnel for sure

You havent identified what model or year you are talking about. Is it the 74 beetle?

I pulled my pedal assembly apart last week on my 1970 beetle after breaking the clutch hook.
Yes, you should be able to get to the bush without disconnecting your clutch cable if you dont move the pedals around as everyone else already mentioned.
The bush may not however be the problem causing your squeak.
It may well be a lack of grease inside the pedal assembly, which would require each of the pedals to be individually removed from the shaft and greased. My pedals all work much smoother having pulled them all apart and greased well.
If you go down this route, the best tip is to remove the seats first to make access easier to the pedals.

Is there a difference with pedal assemblies???

This is a 75L bug

I have been told the bush is U shaped and it looks like it has spun round.

Have tried flooding it with spray but that only lasts a day

Well - your right.

That plate is just a cover and i have re aligned the bush.....big deal

It looks like it is a pedal out job.
Think i will try and get another set first and clean that up big time.

B4 that i will try Glenn's tip but with silicone spray.
Just dump a can of that in there and see what happens.
