Wanted - Longer Kombi M14-1.5 Wheel Bolts. Need to be longer than standard length by approx 10 to 15mm & still retain acorn style wheel centering ball on head of stud like original type stud. Would not matter if they were longer than 15mm as I could cut them down to length to suit. So if you have some lying around (NEED 8 - but will buy more if need be) or know of where I can buy some contact me on here or at ( circleworkcowboy@bigpond.com ) or on 0438177776 . Cheers- Trent.

I fitted 40mm Porsche Studs (same thread) all round on my T25/3.... No more bolts on the front of that puppy!.... And they are way cheaper than the OEM VW PASSAT/T4 bolts!

Okay, it's a wide-five model. Convert to 'studs' and late Kombi nuts using set screws (bolts screwed in from behind the drum)

So how big is the head of the 'set screw'?.... You don't want to be hitting any of the brake drum components in there as the drum rotates!.... Using the correct part is a better option IMHO.... REAL wheel studs are made for the job and they are cheap as chips.... My Porsche studs cost be 6 bux each, secondhand from a Victorian Porsche wrecker and they came with brand new nuts.... EZ to fit too.... Drill the hole to the correct size, spot face the inside of the hole area for the stud to sit flush and press the new studs in... Done.... Took me about 4 hours to do the lot.

A set screw is a techo name for a bolt with threads all the way to its head. You're right about internal drum clarance - will need checking - but retaining the original factory PCD machining is a better way of doing things than drilling holes later...

Why not try dome headed socket head cap screws they have lower profile heads and are high tensile

I think that's what the 'nice products' mob suggested above supplies. I'm using set screws for now; will look at the 'nice' stuff in future

Hi - THANKS for all the help fellow dubbers. I,ve fixed the problem. Just to explain the problem I had was I have a 1971 Baja Bug (disc front ,drum rear)with a ball joint disc brake front end (Not a strut front end) in 4 stud BOLT pattern on the discs. Having difficulty in finding wide 4 stud rear tyre rims in 15'' posed a problem also standard 4 stud tyre rims not having a deep enough dish for what I wanted on the front posed another problem. Luck happened that I had heaps of standard early beetle wide 5 stud rims lying about (& yes they have a huge offset if bolted on back to front- Trust me this works succesfully, done it many times) & I also have heaps of wide 5 stud 15" rims x 8" & 10" to use. So I bought 4 x adaptors to take the 4 stud pattern to wide 5 stud pattern. the two rear adaptors bolted striaght up to the drums fine. BUT the two front adaptors when bolted to the face of the discs would only allow the discs toturn approx 1" either way before they hit the sides of the brake caliper & stopped. So I used a wheel spacer(5mm approx thick) on each side between the adaptor & the disc face. But now the wheel studs were only long enough to screw in 2 turns. The wheel bolt size is m14-1.5. Spiltty kombi uses the same size bolts this Baja. To over come the problem I used VW T4 wheel bolts - same diameter & thread & acorn size but a lot longer & yes nothing to hit on inside the disc rotor & still plenty of room to spare. Cheers , Ive got sore fingers now!:blah:blah:blah

I hope this is not a street car.... Adapters (& spacers) are very dodgy and illegal in Australia....
Hope it all works out for you....
