My bay window is sitting high in the front, looks like someone may have raised it at some point, not sure why.

Took the front wheel off today and couldn't see anything out of the norm.

Would it be the torsion bar? Could it be adjusted to increase height in the front? 🙄

I've never mucked around with a torsion bar before so not sure what I'd be getting myself into. Interested in your thoughts and experiences.

just suggest that the rear has sagged causing the front to lift....common fault cheers steve

Thanks for that Steve. I'll check out the rear end tomorrow and see what's going on.

Ive got a similar thing happenin on mine... but the opposite... front looks relatively normal, but the back seems to sit high... a lot higher than every other stock kombi ive seen.

Is the sag at the back caused by the rear torson bar?

I also need to drop the car a few inches all the way around soon. It's just sitting too high for my liking.

A higher front end is almost certainly due to a sagged rear end. Its perfectly normal. In standard trim front end height isnt adjustable. Rear end is adjusted by rotating torsion bars. If a rear end is sitting higher that a standard kombi front end then its almost certainly been adjusted higher, or fitted with dodgy air shocks :eek

No, shock absorbers don't affect height at all. Shock absorbers do exactly what their name says and that is all they do: they smooth out the up and down bumps as you travel along the road. They don't support any weight at all and they don't "hold up" the bus at all and they don't make any difference to the resting height of the bus.

Yeh.. wasnt sure bout that... i couldnt see it making a large deal of difference, however mum's VR Commodore was draggin it's ass on the ground until it had new shocks put in, so I was just thinking "perhaps?". 👍
