Okay, I have a late 1600 in my early bug, with an early transmission and all. Today I adjusted the valves, realised it was running a bit better afterwards during the test drive, I decided to give it a bit of stick from the lights. the clutch all of a sudden went notchy and light with a nasty shudder to it, although it wasnt slipping. Does anybody have any ideas of what it may be?

Well, I went to work, and then came home to find my old man had already pulled the engine; changed the pressure plate and put the engine back in. Turns out that the tounges in the pressure plate were knackered. Had a feeling there wasnt something right about the pressure plate...
