What do you use and why? Assemble dry or use sealant?

I have used paper gaskets with permatex without any leaks.

As always, I'm looking forward to your input guys!!

Inlet manifold gaskets --
always had paper ones and use permatex or avaition jointing cement...

I've even used a slight smearing of silastic and done them up once they are dry...

I don't like the metal exhaust gaskets....
the old 3-4mm thick metal/asbestos gaskets worked excellently...
shame they are not still available...

Paper ones can get loose and 'blow out'

Hi

The factory fitting is metal on Type 1 and Type 1 powered Type 2s and paper on Type 3. I prefer the thicker style that comes with aftermarket manifolds.
