Type3 ariel position

HI Guys,

Anyone out here with an original front guard for a type3 square/fast/notch with the acorn shape ariel hole they could measure for me and fax.
So I can drill it b4 the car is painted.

Any help is always appreicated.

What year? I have '71/'73. Have a '69 but not sure it has ariel

I think Type 3s had a the ariel fitting on the top of the front passengers guard

not like the Beetle in the window pillar so you would only need a round hole on the top of the guard curve

I am pretty sure thats where all my ariels have been Ive had a few Type 3s over the years

I read it on FACEBOOK so it must be true

Mine's got an ariel but I reckon the hole would have been dug after-market. It's to one side of top centre and I can take a pic if that helps...but do you reckon there were guards produced with holes for ariels? I mean...is there a correct place for the hole to be?

I've got it sorted, thanks for the help.

Yeah I think the early typ3's must of had them as I took a template off an early63 notch with a factory blank.
