OK i have one of each...and i know this is weird but i want the lower gearing of the 002(offroad) but need a strong box...so what makes the 2litre box stronger and am i better of changing diff ratio(c&p) in the 2Litre box or rebuilding 1800 box? if you are confused don't worry...so am i!

Rob,
I am using a 091 box with a 002 bellhousing in my subaru conversion. On Saturday had to change the input shaft of the 091 back to 002 as the 091 spline was too long by 3mm $%^&!#*.

Anyway just visually the diff section is noticibly bigger in the 091 so in an offroader with big wheels I would be trying to keep the housing and planetary gears even if you change the R&P over for the better ratio one.
