ay 😀
I got a nice pair of phat BiG offrioad wheels, prob is, they are 5 stud... however i have a contact with a set of 5 stud rear drum assemblies whose willin' to sell me them. I got a 4 stud, iRS setup at the moment (the stock setup to my 69).
Will the swing axel assemblies fit appropriately? rekon they would be compliant at rego time? (especially to have mixed stud patterns)

u'll have to get the snout machined down on the 5 stud drums to get the nut on

I want to do the same conversion. I have Type 3 wagon drums that I would like to fit to a IRS beetle rear end. How much has to be machined off?
Beach Buggy
74 L Beetle
Mk4 Golf
Wide 5 type 3 drums and backing plates will fit the IRS rear end without any modifications, just bolt them on :thumb

Hi
Early bug wide 5 drums and backing plates will bolt on to a 1500 beetle or IRS axle, the only problem is that the snout on the drum will be to far away from the axle nut, an old grease seal runner is the perfect thickness for a spacer though.

none, they bolt straight up. i have exactly that setup on my buggy. it's only if you're trying to fit type 3 drums to the earlier swingaxle stubs that you have dramas.
