Ok....you have heard from me before about the carb problems...which I am currently sorting out..
But heres another one...
The damn smell of gas all the time.esp when the tank is nearly full...
Im literally spinning out on the fumes seeing as the garage is connected to the house , its ok when Im driving as its a cabrio but its really not doing my braincells any good here when its parked up.
So..what do I need to replace now to get this one out of the way,,I dont fancy sparking up a smoke to find the whole place goes bang..hehehe..could be an expensive smoke that one.

So what have you looked for so far?

Check the fuel cap, see if there is a split in the seal underneath,
you may have to look at fitting an expansion/condensation tank or charcoal canister setup like on modern cars for fuel evaporation
small holes in fuel delivery...pain in the butt to find...does it make a difference if the tank is full/empty?

cracked breather pipe from tank while filling the fuel goes into the cavity down by the filler

Looks like the culprit is the breather pipe as I only really get the stench when the tank has been refilled.
Another one to the list.....still its doing me health ok...I dont tend to spark up when I smell the fumes.

Also the pipe between the outside filler hole and the top of the tank used to leak in my old car, so when it was ful and I turned left, fuel would run up the pipe and leak into the under bonnet area, and fill the car with fumes. Might help..
