Cannondale australia got the entire 2007 shipment of bikes stolen over the weekend, 102 bikes in total. If anyone see's any advetised do not buy them till you have checked frame numbers. All main Cannondale dealers have full frame number lists. The chances of the bikes still being in the country is slim but it still remains. In case people were wondering the retail worth is over 2 million aussie.
wow good luck trying to shift them, probally overseas.:cussing
show us your gates
if it was the entire shipment, are you sure it was only 102 bikes?
That sounds like one shop's order.
I'm a Trek dealer, and we'd sell 100 treks out of each of our stores a year.
100 bikes at $2m is an average of $20k per bike.
That's rich even at cannondale (crackandfail) prices.
Most people seem normal, till you get to know them.
it was the first shipment of the 07 stock, the next shipment is due in a week, the total mumber of bikes was 120, the total including everything stolen and repairs to cannondale towers will be over 2m. The job was pro, they stole two big trucks and did the job the weekend of the scott 24 in canberra, when everyone from cannondale and most bike shops were.
Cannondales are not cheap but they are all made in the US and all have a lifetime frame repalcement, and they are light, my r800(58cm) with full 105 is 7.6 kg.
To be honest having ridden madones and system sixes back to back i would buy a look!
I heard their was 2 robberies of like $80k per store in the last week or so. Campagnalo(sp??) and a few othe brands.
Something is going on

Thieves steal $80k worth of bikes
October 06, 2006 08:18am
TWO separate raids on inner Melbourne bicycle shops have netted thieves top-of-the-range bikes, frames and accessories valued at $80,000, police said.
The first incident occurred at Richmond Cyclery in Bridge Road, Richmond, about 3am (AEST) on Saturday, September 30, a police spokeswoman said.
Police believe a man forced the front door and stole eight road bikes, frames and accessories valued at $50,000.
The bikes include the Pinarello, Colnago and Cinelli brands.
The man was seen loading up a late 1980s white Ford Falcon utility.
He was described as about 30 years old and Caucasian with a slim build and short, dark hair.
The second raid occurred at The Rouleur bike shop in nearby Johnston Street, Abbotsford, about 5am on Tuesday.
The man smashed the front window and took $30,000 worth of bicycles, frames and accessories.
The items stolen in the burglaries are designed for serious cyclists and triathletes and are highly identifiable, police said

I ride a Chas Roberts White Spider and oddly enough on Sunday I was at a crossing thinking I'd never see another Roberts bike here and a bloke crossed with one. I couldn't Adam & believe it.
what gets my goat about both the canondale and melbourne burglaries are that these robbers (wherever they are from) actually know the worth of these bikes, which would also make them CYCLISTS!
i would hate to think my fellow pedal pushers could be so unscrupulous.
in the beginning, the universe was created.
this made alot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
