I've still got a few photos from those shows but I can't remember what it was called, I do recall the show was moved to that venue from Mt Gravatt (got some photos from there too of some lovely Type 3s).

That was the VW Action Day, put on by VWDCQ.
It started at Mt Gravatt show grounds originally and moved to the Storey Bridge in about '89(?)
It had a stint at the Beenleigh Rum Distillery after that, and then at its current location at the Clem Jones centre.

May have had one event at Surfers raceway also, but that may have been an extra event that the VWDCQ put on.

This is all from memory, so members may be able to clarify the details.

mmmm, torana tailights and choptop convertables. No so popular these days...I wonder why? 🤪

I do like the 2 tone car with the empi 5 spokes though.👍

Was also held at the Calamvale hotel before moving to the Clem Jones center for the last 3? years?

Those photos were from 1991.
That is my Race car trailer and my Bro's XE Ford I used to borrow.
The following weekend I ran my first 11.

I remember firing up the blower engine and it echoing off the hi-rise buildings.
