Just wondering..... if the edge of a wheel rim is damaged (i.e a bit of a chunk missing) is there any way to fix it?
🙂
You talking mag??
You can get them welded up and polished.
About $100 per wheel
Futue te ipsum!!!
I just got my Empi 8's sandblasted and they look good, except one of the wheels isn't so good. It'll end up being my spare wheel, but I just didn't know if the edge could be fixed where an inch-long chunk is missing.... probably half a cm wide or so.
I'm planning to paint the wheels, not polish though. Would it be noticeable if it was welded and painted? I'll get a photo of said wheel tomorrow and post it here.

Can't recommend them highly enough.
For wheel fixing they're good huh Brad? Might have to give them a call...
They restored the set of lemmerz wheels I've got on my bug. They've been around for a long time and really know their stuff. If they couldn't do the job themselves they'd know who would. Good people too.
Thanx heaps, I'm going to call them tomorrow! 😁
Yep , go Ajax , if they cant do it noone can.

most engineering shops can repair damaged mags
i thought i had completely rooted one of my momo rims after i fell asleep driving home one night and woke up when i mounted a curb
it put a 4" flat spot in the rim and broke a 15mm chunk out
heres the rim repaired, u'd never know it was ever buckled
local tyre shop knew who to send it to

Advanced Alloy do wheel repairs, as do Steve's Wheels
I have spent all day today witnessing a repair to a mag wheel. The rim was what I would regard a 'throwaway' - 3x1cm crack and dent - all fixed now! The company I was at is called Special FX in Mt Druitt NSW. HTH
