the couch is cool, just what I was looking for in a thread last week. But I think this guy may have it a while if he wants $2500.
although on second lok there has been a lot of work gone into it. its a great job.

i have been looking at making some similar furniture recently, and honestly, i odnt recon Id make one for under $1k, if its done properlu the time and materials would be quite easily up there.

the was a company i the uk making this sorta thing, a whole bug front end bonnet removed and a seat fitted with working lights , had wheels the lot, and it was a shit load cheaper than that brand new... the made beds and all sorts out of bugs and type 3's

i made a beetle couch for a uni assignment once, just cut the car at the back of the doors and behind the air intake grills. left all of the windows, the back seat, seatbelts, carpet, guards, running boards (both chopped) striker plates, etc in place. then cut the headliner long and folded a 2" lip back over the roof (where the sharp edge from being cut with an angle grinder held it in place) and covered the open sill ends with some gaff tape.
i got v good marks but it was a little too big to get into my house through the wide sliding glass doors so it ended up at the tip 🙁 . it would have made a great swing seat.
