Don't know who the transport companies are, I reckon you would find the car would go down to Sydney and across from there. I heard someone on a forum recently quote about $1400 for a car to go from Tasmania to QLD, to give you an idea.

The main problem is that by coming from the eastern states to the west you are going in the expensive direction. The other way is the cheap back loading direction.
For example I was recently quoted $800 Perth to Melbourne, but that's a back loading price.

we got a quote a few moths back the worst was over $1800 the best was about $850 but cant remember which company looked in the yellow pages and one of them put me onto another company that isnt in the phone book hope that helps

We transported a car about two weeks ago it cost us $1700 through ???? TOLL (I Think).
Also had quotes into the $2000 bracket
