All of a sudden my turn signals and horn have stopped working on my t3. Can anyone help me track down the problem? It seemed to be an intermittant problem but now I can get them to work at all, so im thinking a loose connection somewhere...

Im think it could be something wrong with the switches in the streering column, as it is affecting the horn too (the high beam headligts work though, as do the hazard lights)

How do I go about getting to the indicator stalk switches? I couldnt work out how to get the plasttic panel off the steering column.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi,
check Your fuses....
the blinkers and horn maybe on the same fuse...
also clean the copper piece the fuse sits in so its nice and shiney... they are both live with the ignition ON...

Horn wire goes straight down the steering tube [in a beetle] so I presume its the same with yours...
the horn is LIVE when the ignition key is on....
You earth it out when You press the horn button/ring...

the blinkers are seperate, apart from using a fuse that is live with the ignition on....

check the fuses - fusebox , maybe a wire loose...

Hopefully you shouldn't have to pull the steering column apart...

cheers

thanks for that - turns out the top of the fuse had sheared off - wasnt visible until I took it out. Nice simple solution!
