Hey guys,
Crap morning today.
Went to work at the town pool here (Im the Assistant manager there) at 8:45 which was early for my shift.
Thought I would chill out near the pool until the life guards rocked up and enjoy my ice coffee (don't tell my girlfriend about the ice coffee hehe).
Well 5 minutes later the manager is coming over from her house and says two guys were breaking into my girl friends which I have been borrowing while my beetles been off the road.
They had both run off when she come over.
Her car is a little hyandai S coupe. They had smashed the rear right window and opened the door.
The sad thing is she is coming back tonight from holidays so I thought I would polish her car up nice and installed a new pioneer head unit and ipod controller.
Because it was clean there was nothing for them really to take.
They tried to rip out the ipod contorller by the cord and distroyed it.
Good news is they caught the guy and arrested him and there is a possibilty I will get money to replace the window and ipod controller.
It just annoyes me I had the great present for her and work so hard to make it nice and a little punk just wrecked it.
So I spent all afternoon cleaning it up again taking off all the finger print dust they did and covering the window but it is so upsetting.

What a crap day.

I think they chop them off in some countries....
Maybe We need a law like that....

This is why
I may never take My Beetle to any city...
as I wouldn't be game to leave it alone....

although I wouldn't want to park it in any carpark
[even in the country] out of sight, where someone could do something to it....
or even worse.... be stolen...

Bring back the old policing style. its amazing what a counciling session with a phone book, or a well placed size 10 boot, can do for crime prevention. In this age of "understanding" whats going to happen to these PPL, an apperance in court, a good behaviour bond and a slap on the wrist. Thats the extent of it. Are they worried about that? The youth of today have no fear of the law at all, they are no longer intimidated by police officers, its just the opposite, they get great satisfaction out of swearing spitting and verbal abuse of police officers, ambulance crews and even fire fighters. Whats the answer?

thats crap, thats why i was glad i didnt go to fink last year, house would probably been broken into several on the street were that weekend. at least they caught the idiot, but i agree with helbus its down to parenting when they are young, it seems that with the new namby pamby parenting ideas we are raising each generation more spoilt than the last with less respect for everything.

Old system short, sharp and to the point.

New system bores them to death with a social worker......

Thats just the thing. Most of "us" know how to fix the problem. How come the Merlins who know all and get the big money, make a big money decision and sort it! I think another problem is "Latch key kids" both parents have to work out of nessesity ( huge morgage's and the cost of supporting the children ect) There is very little family time, mum and dad working 10/12 hour days 6-7 days a week. this leads to a lack of contact and disscussion with the children they dont get the chance to talk about their hassels, and even if they do the parents are too tired to care. Its too easy to sling the kid $20 and tell them to go and amuse themselves at the arcade!
Its a viscious cycle, I think the only real solution is we have to be happy with less and sacrifice a bit of the keeping up with the jone's lifestyle we seem to be slipping into. ie a more modest home and car, and putting in the saved time taking the kids for a weekend walk and some fish and chips at the park, instead of at the club or with the "beautiful people" at the trendy cafe.
