Im looking to take the plunge and get a compressor I can use for air-tools and some spraying as well.
Can anyone recommend a model and the best (cheapest) place to buy it?

I can recommend you get a 12cfm unit minimum, and belt drive. TWM is a Chinese industrial brand that will be suitable for home use. If you want to get a higher end brand, McMillan 16cfm unit will be the way to go, but you will be up around the $1k mark
At the end of the day get whatever you want, but I can only give a recommendation based on my experience in using and selling light industrial equipment.
dont get a supercheap one,🙅 they are only good for blowing up tyres !!
