A reluntant sale of a hand made interior for a bay window
bus. Thas has had little use due to be written off by a young
drunk driver. This was all made by me and no expense was spared
or short cuts taken as this was not only my hobby but also going
to be a keeper for a long while. Breaks my heart.
Rock and Roll hinges imorted from Just Kampers in the UK.
200 bucks plus shipping and taxes.
Picked out the best 19mm ply wood from bunnings. To make the
bed and the support.
All cut to shape and sanded and three coats of maraine ply, with
more sanding inbetween coats. 12 hours to dry. Took ages.
150 bucks for the wood and varnish (guess)
Hand made roof locker, all sanded and painted and 4 ikea 12
volt lights fitted. This also has provision for the table.
Untold hours of head cratching
Hande made table that is removable to store under the roof
locker and a removable leg.
Brand New foam from Clarks Rubber, which is the best one, ie does not deform.
Shocked me at the cost of 300 bucks this one. All cut
to shape and hardly used. If you have never slept on new foam then
it is a real treat. Needs covering.
The support for the rock and roll bed has been cut for 10 inch subs.
Mine where not free air subs. whoops. Subs not included. Either throw
in some 10 inch free air subs or make up some sub boxes for under the
seat area. Or replace this piece or cover with a laminate of the same
colour.
Brand new curtains from a supplier in the UK. Which come with curtain
ties and two matching cushions. 300 bucks plus the shipping.
Silent gliss curtain rails and hooks. Which was another really
expensive way of doing it. 200 bucks underestimate.
I also have a full set of deluxe panels for behind the front seats
and all the side panels, off a wrecked deluxe bus. And a made a couple
of kick panels from mdf for the front.
I cannot tell you how long it took to make this, its hours of work
with the damn rock and roll hinges being a particulaly difficult bit.
Think it took a weekend and about eight attempts, as I didn't have the right
instructions for the support piece for a bay.
The roof locker being another one that I would not like to tackle again, while
the table looks really good and I am proud of the roof locker.
I would love to get my bay fixed and get this all back in and get some
pleasure out of it but need to be realistic. So sensible offers accepted.
Please don't make a stupid offer for a couple of hundred bucks I would
prefer to keep it and probably will. May split too if there is something there
you want but don't count on it. This is going to save you a hell of a lot of
hassle and instantly put value on your bus.
photos are not the best as it was when I was working on it. send me a mail if you want some higher resolution pics emiled
