What are those German small trucks called, that have the beetle engine behind the front seat inside the cabin??
They were made in the early 50s...
I saw one at Nambucca / Valla beach a few years ago...
[I think it was there??]
Been trying to think of it for a few days....
I think there are a couple of people restoring them..

tssnq.com.au
thanks for that...
I would never have remembered that...
and I still love those 412s with the twin headlamps...
with the so called Leiding nose... after Rudolf Leiding
who designed the twin headlamp nose ...
He was chairman of Volkswagen AG in Germany from 1971 to 1975...
this front design was used on many South American Volkswagens from VW do Brasil...
and those Tempos are really Ugly...
but then so are many VWs... [not incl the 412].. lol..

I'd love to fit a supercharged VW engine in there and run PRO Front Wheel Drive Dragracing class.
These are front wheel drive?
Or am I thinking of the Basistransporter"? or "Hormiga"

yes Dave, they're frond wheel drive.
just gotta figure out a way to use the front wheel drive hubs in conjunction with some rear wheel drive hubs. ❓
Most people seem normal, till you get to know them.
Did they use the VW transaxle???
