hey all,
I think when i was moving, one of my beetles must have bit a mate of mine, cause not long after that he asked me to keep a eye out for one.

Anyway we picked it up last week, a little rough, but original & for the right price, A 1967 delux 1300, 1 click & she doesnt miss a beat! still 6 volt, no radio, it was an old blokes, told 1 owner?? sat on 100 klicks & then some, dam I cant wait to finish mine, I loved crusin in it~

Anyway some of the stories behind it are mad & you should see some of the fix ups its crazy, it reminded me of my old great grandpa, if its broken, theres allways a way to fix it! never throw it away.

I will fill you in on some of these tales soon, but anyway, the windscreen & rubbers have never been replaced, lots of chips & cracks, any1 know what this is about, I thought it was the roo out of the aussie volks logo, is this an australian vw production number or nothing?, I have an old Vintage Australian logo book & the roo looks the same & the blue of vw?. I had just never seen it before
Cheers~
Sime!

Awesome Sime!!!

Yeah it's a bit addictive. My mum has only ever really owned beetles, my grandparents had a split too. I grew up in a beetle, and loved the attention i got from the other kids at school when mum would come to pick me up!

It didnt take long before my best mate caught the "bug", and when she saw a girl selling one just down the road she pestered her other half for it!

He whinged and moaned saying how much he hates beetles, but when he drove it home, seems he caught the bug too because apparently he was waving at people as he drove and had a grin from ear to ear. Now all he talks about is what "he" wants to do to the bug!

I look forward to hearing more stories!!

My friends bug when she pulled it apart discovered that instead of using new pan halves to fix the rust, the previous owner had used old road signs and the door to a Fridge!

This is why her bug is now called "the kelvinator"

It's actually the TAA logo, so you were close. TAA = Trans Australia Airlines

hey all,
now that we have cleaned up the fact that the kangeroo has no vw meaning, & I will not have to try & reproduce it for my mates beetle, I will get back to the fun stories on this beetle~

How 2 Stop those bloody yound hoods from lifting the vw Badges on my ride~ put some self tapers from the inside untill completely through & some butterfly clips for extra protection, the front vw badge was the same~ hah ha cheers
