Hi

I just spoke to an insurance company and they said for their classic policy the karmann ghia will need to be in a lock up garage (on its own) that has solid walls and door, so we cant put it in a mesh type like you get in most modern units. does this sound normal to you guys and can any one recommend a good insurance company? pretty please 🙂

most should offer a policy as long as it is parked in your driveway or your garage.
I use shannons insurance.
see.... air and water do mix 😉

Talk to either Shannons or Vigil. I doubt if they will be so punctilious. Shannons insures me as long as the car is parked off the street when at home.

Sorry donn. I'm currently experiencing all sorts of punctilious bureaucratic nonsense from a most puntilious clerk in the government at the moment and the word was on my mind.
It just popped out. I suppose it's sort of correct in that it means exacting and particular about forms and therefore lacking in flexibility.

Shannons. I saved $500 on comprehensive insurance for our Subaru compared to NRMA

you did well, despite the fact that when i rang them they currently had my car insured with the previous owner at 12K they wouldnt offer me 1 dollar over the purchase price until they had fully scrutinised it.
