I know there are already quite a few booked into this from Melbourne....they did it on their way home from the SA Bug-In last Easter...it should be a great event down there in Tassie :thumb

Who is going & camping???The VW club of Vic has listed afew places to stay just wondering where people have booked so we can camp with some fellow dubbers???

cant wait.
now for the hard bit... which car?? or is it cars??? at least we have time to think about it.

Not sure Jay, but it would be at least 30-50 cars plus. Should be great, i can't wait either. Cruising onto the boat from Albert Park Grand Prix Pit Lane.
Then after a party on the TT Line, we head off down south to Hobart, check in, get ice (for refreshments) then off to the welcome BBQ frday night.

Theres an event organised for Baskerville Raceway.
There will be a couple of Vees out there. Im taking my Kestrel F-Vee out there.

I am not sure of the end numbers but i do know that at least 30 people will be going on the extended tour, and all the cheaper accomodation is ALL booked up, you may be able to bunk with someone or try the B&B's, they are liitle more exy but you might still be able to get in.

Yes Baskerville on Saturday will be a real hoot, after a hangover breakfast at Salamanca i'll be cruising our for a look at the "racers", there is also a chance to do some "Fun" racing with your normal everyday VW's, just to keep all in the weekend.

sounds like you guys down there have got a great event organised . Leaves our ( so called ) nationals for dead !! Our event has demised to just being a one day car show , not too exciting these days as there are much higher quality events on our calender like the 'flat-4 shootout' and the 'warrick weekender' .
With your event included , I would say that these are the top 3 in the country , well done !!
I just wish I had the time to come down for it . I was in Tassi only 2 weeks ago on a vintage motorcycle rally and spoke to David up at Sheffield ( at the steamfest ) he was telling me that you guys have got your act together down there . Due to work and family commitments I wont make it this year .

At the moment we have 40 cars (!!) booked for the extended tour.. and 80 cars entered in the motorsport events held at Baskerville raceway on saturday! Its gonna be an absolute hoot! :bounce

Thanks for the good words Wayne.

We have so far, 41 cars doing the extender tour, 40 in the racing sessions at baskerville and 100 entered into the show and shine. I cant wait, have next week off to finish preparing three cars for the event. Man, the extended tour in 2003 with 25 cars was mad enough, this is going to be awesome, have to be in a serious condition in hospital to miss this!!!!!!!!!

it will be good to catch up Maris. We will be meeting the Thursday night sailing vw's at Albert Park Pit Lane before we all cruise down to the boat and load up in convoy.

I will have a new 62 Ambulance resto cruising with my 57 Panel all the way so the lot of us will look great driving down to Hobart Friday morning after we get off the boat.

man, this is going to an awesome 9 days of VW mayhem!!!

Ignition module in my T3 crewy spat the goo today, glad that wasnt during the extended tour, the early warning was a stall with no restart possible, tow truck!! had to get the trusty ol bay ute out of the shed to finish bug in preps
