last sunday, went for a cruise with her, coil falls out of place, and knocks around in the engine and made her shit its daks, stopping about 25 odd cars behind me.
wrapped her in thin rag and slotted it in a comfy place, went along fine for the rest of the cruise.
some time during the week she completely refused to start so i took the bus to class. when i came back she started fine (it wasnt even cold).
to my mates house 2 days later she didnt like to idle when stuck in traffic for a couple minutes so i parked her down and a few seconds later she was fine.
and TODAY i was driving home smelling like something burning, pulled over, and some how the rag caught on fire, thus screwing up my coil, and some of the NEW leads ive got in her, and rendering her undrivable, parked about 100 meters from my house.
im thinking about throwing in the towel and getting a corolla.

Obedient maybe, conformative yes.
Did anyone re wire the leads to/from distributor..
I mean if the coil was on fire the polaraties are wrong somewhere??? Not too mention thatshee spat the coil first. Couldve been bodgy, the coil..
Cant give into trials shit none of us would own a car if this was the case, even new cars shit themselves, Ever tried to find a intermittent problem with a jap car???
Thats Fun....👍

fair suck of the sav. You cant blame the car when the coil has been wrapped up in a rag flopping around the engine bay for a week.If you did that in a corolla you would probably have blown the EFI computer amd have a damge bill of $1000, not $100. Theyre sposed to be screwed on, you could have fixed it in 1 minute once you got back from the cruise last sunday.

Was the coil meant to run a resistor. I had a GT40 burn on me a few years back cause I forgot a resistor. It lasted bout a week.

Common error, the rag has a built in resistor.
Best to use good rags from towels or tea towels from the kitchen, not old cheap tshirts etc, as these will always fail.

Friday night #1 son did the mercy dash in his beetle to sit on the side of the road with his squeeze, waiting for a tow truck. Her corolla put a rod through the block.
A bit more terminal than a coil.
Well my friends are gone & my hair is grey, I ache in the places where I used to play.

regardless of the origins i think its pretty safe to say that its used as a derogatory term. lets not make a big deal out of it, i prefer to have fun over arguing about the crapola like that.
anyways im heading to charlene (my square's name) soonish before i head to a meeting, not quite sure the extent of the fire but will update. thanks again killakornkobb for hooking me up with a new coil.

Yes VW territory comes with its downfalls but also with many joyfully times as well. I have also felt your pain when I recently purchased a car and brought it home to firstly have a coil fail followed by the whole engine harness, back seat, carpet and starter motor catching fire in a big way all due to dodgy wiring from the previous owner. After rewiring the car and having it running again the motor has now seased up after driving it for less than 20mins. (Im still to investigate this one) I know I got done buying this one but you cant win them all. At least my other two work good. And after many hours of blasting down the beach I will be reminded of the joy VW brings and thus I will return to fix it.
