Check this out, a Water Bridge in Germany... over a another river! Even after you see it, it is still hard to believe!

What a feat!

Six years, 500 million euros, 918 meters long... now this is engineering!

This is a channel-bridge over the River Elbe and joins the former East and West Germany, as part of the unification project. It is located in the city of Magdeburg, near Berlin. The photo was taken on the day of inauguration in 2003.

Hi

That's pretty cool. I visited this one in Scotland called the Falkirk wheel.

Steve

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Falkirk Wheel

The Falkirk Wheel, named after the nearby town of Falkirk in central Scotland, is a rotating boat lift connecting the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal. The difference in the levels of the two canals at the wheel is 24 metres, roughly equivalent to the height of an eight storey building. The structure is located near the Rough Castle Fort and the closest village is Tamfourhill. On 24 May 2002, Queen Elizabeth II opened the Falkirk Wheel as part of her Golden Jubilee celebrations.

In France there is a lift between two canals that picks the boat up and moves it up slope on a huge chaine ratchet. It's years old.
