WTB Standard tyres and rims or mags

Hi everyone,

I am after some standard tyres and rims or mags for my 1970 beetle. In WA or if someone in WA could tell me of any places in perth area that might have some.

Hey Tania,
Beetles never came standard with mags, just tyres and hub caps. As for tyres any tyre place can give you the standard profile and tyre size, but if you have the carrera kit on your car still you may want something wider than "standard".

Hi Ash,

How you going? Hope all is well for you over east.
Carrera kit long gone. have got some standard guards that I am getting painted at the moment and need to get some rims and tyres so I can get her back on the road soon.
I would love to get some rims and white walls on her but not sure about my chances LOL
just need to work out the size etc I need to get.

steel rims should be 4 stud x 15 inch std

tyres 165 x15" (inch) maybe a bit wider at the rear

mags were usually wider making the price of tyres dearer as the price goes up with wideness.
also u would need to buy centre caps and chrome wheelnuts and prob locknuts (4) to keep ur investment safe!!

try Bob Jane for info...here they sell NEW and used mags and new tyres in a package see if they will incl bolts after u have settled on the whl&tyre price (INCL balancing & fitting)

someone told me that I would need PCD of 4x130 wheels is that correct?

yep! Unique to VW so getting new mags at Bob Jane will be very difficult...
