So I said fine and made up a free to good home sign and put it up in the park across the road.

Can relate to this problem...
had exactly the same problem when we got "His" dog...It wreaked everything in our backyard...by the time hubby finished our garden & most of our rainforest/yard looked like a prisoner of war camp with barbed wire all ver the place so the dog coulldn't wreak that....I told hubby if it ever touches the clothes on the line..its "gone"...
I was quite willing to drop it off at the pound...
My hubby & I never had a arguement til the dog came here.
The dog wreaked everything in the yard EXCEPT the clothes on the line......she is now about 13yrs old now & sometimes still does stupid stuff...her nickname is TROLL so you can gather what her personality is like...lol
Won't play well with others...
won't do "nice"...etc....what do you expect from a female red cattle dog...
My sympathies go to your wife....
BTW we left that house 5yrs ago...her teeth marks are still in the palm trees from trying to rip them out...lol
