Shannons and Brett decided to repair the existing clean metal. Brett's done a great job!

I had a second hand front clip all lined up just in case, along with a new door. The push was pretty big, 30cm in some places, so it was good to have the spare panels as back up. I now have Shu Roos on the bumper bars!

Are you sure that's not just an old picture Craig?

Good to see the cosmetic surgery was a success.

What's Shu Roos (Apart from what the name suggests)?

How does it work & where do I get one?

I had a close encounter with the same kangaroo twice and almost hit a big wombat on the Warwick trip last year.

They cost an almighty $6 a pair, and are available at most auto parts stores. They're tiny little whistle type plastic things that apparently emit a high frequency sound as the wind passes through them.

Do they work? The jury is 50/50. They don't scare the animal away, but rather alert the animal of an approaching vehicle and decrease the risk of them jumping in front.

I don't know. It makes me feel better that I'm doing something. That or fit a Mac bullbar to the front. They fit under the bumper bar and you can hardly see them.

There is also some $500 plug-in jobbie as well, but if no one really knows if they work, why spend an extra $494. So far I haven't had another Skippy jump in front, but that could also be due to the fact that the Kombi is still wrapped in bubble wrap and hasn't really left the garage yet.

Off to Warwick next week to meet with the council and drag way guys, so no more Kombi protection from Tuesday.
