Looking for a pair of front seats for my 1970 beetle. Prefer a lighter colour. Will also take matching rear seat if in good condition. Will pickup from anywhere in Sydney & suburbs with cash on the spot.

Send pics to here.

Seats must be genuine VW (for blue slip).

Thanks
Dave

Hi barls

Being not so bright on this Saturday morning, I have a standard 1970 flat screen 1599 bug. What is the difference between a T rail and an L rail, and how can I tell which fits mine?

Cheers
Dave

its the shape of the rail that the seats slide on you can just look at the rails and see which one it looks like, one looks like a capital t, the other looks like and upside down capital L, ive got a couple of sets of the t rail but no L rail which are the earlier set.

the rail that the seat slides on with the T rail is about 20 to 25mm wide
and the L rail is about 12 mm wide at the top

hope that makes sense
I read it on FACEBOOK so it must be true

Thanks Dave. Do you know if the seats are interchangeable?

And most importantly, does anyone know when VW switched from the "L" rail track to the "T" rail track?

u can fit T rail (71-74) seats on L rail bugs but there abit loose
u need to fit the plastic bushing from the original t runners to fit them snuggly
